About Speech with Mr. Esselpy: <p><b>Speech-language pathologist by day, author and illustrator by</b> <b>mid-to-late afternoon</b>.</p> <p>I'm a practicing school-based speech-language pathologist with nearly 15 years of experience in the field. I'm currently working at an elementary school, but I've spent a number of years working with students across the age spectrum; ranging from pre-K through high school. I began creating my own motivating, fun, and engaging activities for my students when I realized how few were available. I hope that your students enjoy them as much as mine do!</p>

About Badger State Speechy: <p>Donna is a licensed speech language pathologist and creator of speech, language and social communication materials that are no print and can be used on digital platforms. A premier publisher, all of Badger State Speechy's Boom decks have audio directions. All social communication materials use a scaffolded learning approach to help all students feel confident in learning nuanced materials. Donna has been featured multiple times in ASHAWIRE. Presentations include "Boom Back to School symposium," 2022 and "social communication and teletherapy" for SLP Palooza, 2020. About Learning at Home and School: <p>Turning nearly 20 years of occupational therapy experience into engaging, hands-on learning tools for students of all abilities! I am a Registered and Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) with a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (2006), a certified Learning Without Tears® Handwriting Specialist, and a certified Rhythm Works Integrative Dance instructor. I am fluent in Spanish and plan to continue growing my store to include bilingual and Spanish only decks.</p> <p>My Boom decks are intentionally designed to target the foundational skills needed for functional handwriting, typing, and executive functioning. These include fine motor coordination, visual-motor integration, motor planning, attention, organization, and self-regulation. Activities are structured to be developmentally appropriate, engaging, and accessible, with an emphasis on reducing frustration while promoting independence and confidence.</p> <p>Each deck reflects an occupational therapy lens, focusing on skill-building through repetition, multisensory input, and clear visual supports.
