Synonyms, vocabulary building: This Halloween-themed escape room-style activity is engaging and fun but won't scare your middle school students. It is great for small group speech, individual sessions, and homework for speech. There are 20 pairs of target vocabulary words. Each scene has interactive objects and sounds that are very engaging. Target vocabulary words are chosen for the 4th to 6th grade level and are appropriate for older students who have delays in language/ semantics. The target vocabulary items are: anxious, gist, support, informed, source, scarce, typical, essential, border, adequate, briskly, drowsy, benefit, analyze, genuine, infer. Target words are provided in a sentence. Students choose a synonym given a choice of four.
