About Mercedes Merrell: I attended California State University Fullerton and earned a Bachelors Degree in Spanish, a Bilingual K-12 Teaching Credential, and a Masters Degree in Science. I taught grades 1-3 for 32 years, and I am now retired. Throughout my teaching career, I often created my own classroom materials, sometimes out of necessity, other times out of creative joy. I continue to create resources in English and in Spanish and hope that other educators will find them useful!
About Chalkboard Chick: <p>I love helping K - 2 teachers enrich their teaching by providing quality, fun-filled English Language Arts products that motivate and increase students' learning. </p> <p>I have taught school for 44 years, with 20 years in 1st grade, 4 years in Kindergarten, 1/2 years in Junior Kindergarten and 10 years as a Reading Specialist in a K-5 school. AND lastly, I was a Reading Coach for 10 years in a K-5 school! I was an adjunct faculty professor at Virginia Commonweath University for 10 years, teaching various reading courses during this time.
