Suddenly TeleSLP

About Suddenly TeleSLP:
Welcome to my Boom store. I began practicing speech therapy in 2002, working in hospital-based settings, public schools, and private practices. When the COVID-19 pandemic occurred, like many others, I found myself thrown into telepractice. Thankfully, I discovered Boom Learning. I began to adapt my physical materials to digital, and my library continues to grow despite the return to "normal." In 2022, I began teaching in a private preschool, and while I do not currently engage in direct practice, I maintain my license and certification as a speech pathologist through continuing education. Throughout my career, the majority of my clinical work was with neurodivergent learners (ADHD, Autism, 2E, social learning differences, and other neurodevelopmental conditions). You'll find that many of my materials are geared toward neurodivergent students.

While supporting neurodiversity is my passion, I also found it fun to create engaging and entertaining articulation and phonological production games. If you browse the articulation tab of my store, you'll find hundreds of games from digitally adapted versions of classics (bingo, checkers, dots and boxes, four-across, Sudoku) to original games I've created that address speech-sound production. There are only so many times you can use flashcards or play "go-fish" before you lose the motivation of the client. Kids LOVE the games in the articulation section, and you'll find plenty of freebies so you can explore the game before purchasing.

My Happy Place

About My Happy Place:
Hi! I’m Susan Jennings, the creator behind My Happy Place. As a former elementary school teacher with experience in kindergarten, first, and second grades, I understand the unique joys and challenges of early childhood education.

I’m passionate about designing engaging, age-appropriate learning resources that spark curiosity and support the development of foundational skills. I believe classrooms should be joyful spaces where students feel inspired to explore, take risks, and grow.

One of my favorite approaches is thematic teaching. That’s why I create resources that are not only standards-based but also fun, meaningful, and easy for teachers to implement.

In addition to a bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Illinois, I have taken numerous continuing education courses in various subjects, including, most recently, the science of reading.
