About Teaching Muse: Recently, I changed positions to be at a school closer to home. I am now an AIS math and reading teacher. I work with at-risk students to help bring their achievement levels to grade level. Before this move, I was teaching special education to upper elementary and middle school students for 17 years. I started out with a degree and career in chemical engineering, and I have slowly been making my way into the teaching world. I have experience developing curriculum for home-schooled students in math and science, and I spent the past year creating and teaching STEM programs at a K-9 special needs school. I have been tutoring for about 5 years in math, science, chemical engineering and ACT/SAT/GRE prep, and now I am taking a stab at packaging and selling some of the curriculum that I have made over the years! </span>
