Description: These multi-purpose category picture cards provide flexible, low-prep practice for early vocabulary and language skills. Four categories are included: food, clothes, animals, and vehicles. Each category contains 12 vocabulary targets, with every card provided in both color and black-and-white. Use the cards for: • Naming and identifying vocabulary • Matching and sorting by category • Describing and defining • Comparing and contrasting • Following directions and spatial concepts • Expanding words, phrases, and sentences • Modeling communication through speech, sign, or AAC • Matching and Memory games Hide the cards in a mystery bag, sensory bin, toy clinic, or around the room to incorporate movement and play. Pair them with your preferred visual supports, vocabulary strategies, or describing framework. The black-and-white cards may also be used for coloring or as a low-ink option. Print two copies of any page for matching or Memory games. Preparation: Print the desired pages, cut around each card, and laminate if desired. This resource includes picture cards only. Separate visual supports for describing, defining, comparing, and contrasting are not included.
