Description: Build vocabulary with these 15 color printable worksheets for Bear Says Thanks by Karma Wilson. Students match story foods, sort into categories, find what doesn’t belong, and describe story words. Four levels let you use the same book with a wide range of learners. Bear Says Thanks is not included. These worksheets are designed as a companion to the book, not a stand-alone product. What’s inside: Adapted (life skills and AAC): Read the story aloud as each friend arrives with food. Students place the food on the matching number on Bear’s Thankful Feast quilt. Layered sentence strips use core words (I, they, have, more, none, eat, stop, say) to model 2-4 word phrases during each part of the story. Level 1 (ages 3-4): Cut and glue pictures into two groups: animals and food, dishes and drinks, animals that fly and animals that walk, dessert and cooking supplies, and fruit and fall items. Each page has an example already placed. Level 2 (ages 4-5): Circle the picture that doesn’t belong, then fill in the sentence “The ___ does not belong because ___.” Categories include animals with fur, fruits, vegetables, birds, hot, cold, snacks, dishes, and foods that grow on trees. Level 3 (ages 5-6): Describe six story words using category, function, parts, material, size, shape, and color. Skills targeted: Categorizing and sorting Naming what doesn’t belong and explaining why Describing with multiple attributes Using core words in short sentences Following the story sequence
