Your ESL students will have fun reviewing vocabulary for talking about people at school with this engaging picture crossword. They will identify the following words and spell them correctly: bus driver, coach, cook, janitor, librarian, nurse, principal, secretary, student, teacher. The focus on jobs that people have at school would make this activity suitable for back to school, Labor Day, or career day. I created this crossword for my own students, who are learning English as a foreign language in elementary school. They need to learn vocabulary and spelling, but they also love to play. Word games like this one allow them to do both! Supports the following standards: - WIDA: ELD-SI .K-3: Inform: Define and classify objects or concepts. - WIDA: ELD-LA .4-5 .Inform .Expressive: Construct informational texts in language arts that add precision and details to define, describe, compare, and classify topic and/or entity. - Common Core Language Arts: CCRA.L.2: Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing.
