Description: This activity is designed for students who have mastered basic sight words and are ready to build a vocabulary for describing familiar items, such as food and animals. Students select the word that correctly describes the picture from three available choices. All words on the page include audio support; if a student is unfamiliar with a word, they can click it to hear the audio. This activity is part of a three-part sequence (e.g., Simple Sentence Building 1a, 1b, and 1c) that targets three distinct features of the same item (e.g., "A duck is a bird," "A duck can fly," and "A duck says 'quack'"). Once students become proficient with these decks, they are encouraged to progress to "Describe a Picture: Sentence Building 1," which offers six choices to construct three simple sentences.
