Your students will drag two of three syllables into boxes to form a VCCV word, an adjective ending with final -y, or a word with a final, stable syllable. This deck will help your students with decoding and fluency skills by improving their ability to identify patterns in words with syllables. The Deck: - The deck is divided into four sections. Each begins with a review and is followed by seven cards to practice the skill. - Your students will begin by dragging two of the three syllables displayed to form VCCV words with the same consonants. - They will move on to form VCCV words with different consonants. - Then, they will form words with final stable syllables. - Finally, they will form adjectives with a base word and final -y. .RF.1.3.E: Decode two-syllable words following basic patterns by breaking the words into syllables."
