Description
Build functional communication, self-awareness, health vocabulary, and early language skills while targeting the core word SICK. Understanding and communicating when someone feels sick is an important self-advocacy skill. This kit uses real photographs and predictable, repetitive sentences to help students connect SICK with how people may look and feel while building meaningful language around health and internal states. Repeated sentence models such as “He is sick” and “She is sick” also provide natural practice with pronouns, early sentence structure, and describing others. 🤒 SKILLS TARGETED: • AAC + core vocabulary • Functional communication • Understanding and using SICK • Health and body vocabulary • Feelings + internal states • Self-awareness and self-advocacy • Social-emotional learning (SEL) • He/She pronouns • Early sentence development • Receptive + expressive language • Early literacy 📚 INCLUDED: ✔ 10-page interactive adapted book with real photographs ✔ Predictable, repetitive sentence structure ✔ Uppercase + lowercase tracing task cards ✔ Word identification practice ✔ Task box activities + visual supports Great for speech therapy, AAC instruction, special education, SEL activities, functional communication, life skills, and students with complex communication needs. The predictable format provides repeated exposure to SICK while giving students opportunities to notice how people feel, describe what they see, and connect language with real-life experiences.
