Description: These 24 task cards cover root words. As with all Boom Cards in our store, the cards become progressively more challenging moving from sorting root words by meanings to understanding the meaning of a word used within a sentence. Root words included: ortho, phon, photo, pop, port, pos, rect, rupt, and scope. Card 1: Students select the definition of a root word. Cards 2-4: Students drag the root words next to the correct definition. (ortho, phon, photo, pop, port, pos, rect, rupt, scope) Cards 5-10: Students select the correct definition of the word. Cards 11-18: Students type in the correct root word that is missing from the word to correctly complete the sentence. Cards 19-24: Students select the correct meaning of the word found within the sentence. (These questions model standardized testing questions.)
