Description

Practice money, number comparison, and decision-making skills with a realistic, highly visual high-school football concession stand simulation. Students take on the role of a concession stand employee helping customers decide whether they have enough money to purchase the food they want. Students will: Look at the dollar amount needed for a food item. Identify how much money the customer has. Compare the two amounts. Decide whether the customer has enough money to make the purchase. Type the amount still needed using the on-screen keyboard. Type 0 when the customer has enough money. The activity supports counting, money skills, number comparison, decision-making, visual scanning, keyboard number entry, and functional purchasing skills while providing a consistent response format. Designed for accessible participation with visual, auditory, and motor supports. The simulation uses a realistic high-school football concession stand setting and familiar concession foods. Students are the concession stand employees. Their job is to help customers decide whether they have enough money to purchase the food they want. This version increases the functional-math demand by moving from counting tickets to using dollar amounts and entering numerical answers independently.
