Description
This is another deck targeting prosody, tone, intonation, and pitch of speech. It can be hard for our students on the autism spectrum to understand the intent of the communication with just the tone of speech. Moreover, it is especially tricky to determine if someone is providing information or asking a question if the words are exactly the same. This deck is designed to train your student's ears to discriminate a statement from a question by paying attention to the pitch at the end of the sentence. Statements have a stable pitch throughout the statement, whereas, questions have the pitch going up at the end of sentences. It is very subtle but this deck exposes the students to this difference and attempts to train them to spot one easily and accurately with this interactive, game-like format.
