Description

Let’s feed the hungry caterpillar in this fun and interactive speech and language activity! Students will find the food in response to an errorless “Where’s the…?” question, tell the caterpillar to “Eat,” and feed him ten pieces of each item with fun chomping sound effects. After feeding, students formulate a sentence using visual/AAC sentence strips: “The caterpillar eats the ___.” Targets include: • Where questions • Core words: eat, in, feed • Vocabulary development • Sentence formulation & MLU expansion • Following directions • Hungry/full concepts • Insects & spring themes Foods include: apple, pear, plum, strawberry, orange, cupcake, ice cream, carrot, pizza, hot dog, pie, and lettuce. AAC, visual, and audio supports are embedded throughout. While this activity pairs nicely with caterpillar themes, the food items are different from the popular book. ✨ Part of my Growing Insect Bundle.
