Description: This fishing themed activity is a fun and engaging way to introduce your students to representing addition with ten frames and number sentences. The deck contains 10 cards, presented in random order each time the game is played. Written and optional audio directions are provided on each card. On each card, students are tasked with dragging and dropping the correct number of fish into the ten frame to make ten. Next, students use the ten frame they just created to type the correct number into the empty white box to solve the equation. This activity supports the following standard: CSS.MATH.CONTENT.K.OA.A.4 For any number from 1 to 9, find the number that makes 10 when added to the given number, e.g., by using objects or drawings, and record the answer with a drawing or equation. Ideal for kindergarten, this deck would also be a useful resource for pre-K and first grade.
