Description

Help students learn who to ask for help in real-world situations at school, work, and in the community. Students read a short everyday scenario and choose the most appropriate person to approach for help from three visual choices. Rather than simply identifying “safe” and “unsafe” people, students practice using the situation and setting to decide who can best help them. This deck includes 20 self-checking cards with 2 teaching/modeling cards and 18 practice scenarios. Students practice asking for help in situations involving: School and work Stores and restaurants Public transportation Parks and community events Libraries, hospitals, and airports Emergencies and other everyday situations Designed for special education, life skills, transition, community-based instruction, and functional skills instruction. Short text and realistic visual supports make the deck accessible while keeping the content age-respectful for older learners.
