Guess who is on your partner's card with this two-person speaking game featuring real photos of cute dogs and puppies! Your ESL students will have fun asking and answering yes-no questions about dogs while using present progressive verb forms with this interactive game. The game reviews a range of vocabulary, including adjectives (ex. a big/small dog with hair long/short/curly/straight hair), nouns (ex. spots, ears, tail), and action verbs (ex. jump, run, swim). They'll review grammar as well, including question formation in the present simple and present progressive (also known as the present continuous) . My English learners usually have trouble with question word order, so I've supported them by adding the following sentence starters on each game board: "Is it...?" and "Does it have...?" This deck includes approximately 60 cards, each with a different dog. There are also ten game boards to simulate the experience of shuffling the cards. Each game board contains a deck of 20 cards to choose from and a separate grid of 20 cards which players can "turn over" by clicking on the images. Each child sets up the game board on their own device to keep their chosen image a secret, creating a natural information gap. There is also a short drag-and-drop review of these words and phrases: catch a toy, dig a hole, hug a friend, jump, ride in a car, roll over, run, sleep, swim, wear clothes. My students have a lot of fun with this game, and I hope yours will too!
