Description: Classifying Polygons Boom Cards consists of 32 self-checking digital task cards designed to teach students how to identify and classify polygons. Each card displays a sound icon that students can click to hear the words on the card read aloud. If you prefer not to have the audio option, please look for Classifying Polygons (No Audio). The first ten cards introduce the concept and provide examples of polygons and shapes that are not polygons. The five types of polygons that are introduced are triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and octagons. The remaining 22 cards, which are presented randomly, include a variety of tasks that require students to identify and/or classify geometric shapes based on their properties. These Boom Cards are especially engaging because they require a variety of response types. Some cards have multiple choice answers, some require students to select triangles that have specific properties, and some use drag and drop responses. If any of the tasks are too easy or too challenging, you can hide those cards from your students using the Hide Cards setting in your Boom library.
