Preposition puzzles are a cross between an ESL picture dictation and a logic puzzle. This one features nine spooky and colorful Halloween spiders. This digital TPR game can be played by either one or two players. Students read in the first version and speak in the second. In both versions, the students use prepositions of place and color vocabulary to solve problems of deductive logic. The following prepositional phrases and prepositions of place are used in this deck: above, below, between, next to, to the left, and to the right. A matching activity is included for five key prepositions. In the one-player version, students read the clues and place the spiders on the game board to satisfy the conditions. This version is self-checking, so students get instant feedback. Audio is included to support emergent readers. In the two-player version, students use their oral communication skills to produce matching versions of the game board. One student arranges the spiders and the other must ask questions to guess their locations. Sentence starters are provided. Students will enjoy making decisions and working as a team to match their boards. Both versions feature seven levels of play, starting with just three spiders and ending with nine. Younger children can succeed at the lower levels, while older and more advanced students can challenge themselves to beat the game by completing all seven levels.
