Description: Your students will identify key details about African American inventors and their inventions. Their inventions have made significant differences in our lives. Your students will see colorful clip art of the inventions and the inventors. They will identify details about the inventors and inventions by reading or listening to informational text on each card. Your students will respond to Wh- questions to identify details. This deck has two parts. Part 1: There are 23 cards. Each card has a visual of the invention or inventor. There are 2-3 cards with information about ten inventors. One card discusses the problem and how the invention was the solution. The next card provides information about the inventor. The information and pictures are different on each card. After reading or reading while listening to the information, your students will respond to a Wh- question about the inventor or invention. They will click on one of three answer choices. Part 2: There are 10 cards. Your students will read or listen to a problem, then click on one of three inventions in the deck that solved the problem. RI.1.1 Ask and answer questions about key details in a text. RI.2.1 Ask and answer such questions as who, what, where, when, and why. RI.1.3 Describe the connection between two individuals, events, ideas, or pieces of information in a text.
