Students will practice sliding CVC words with (short i) ĭ to create a word. Blending CVC words practice in a different way... ~blending the first 2 phonemes, then adding the last phoneme *This way of blending may help a child who struggles to blend each phoneme separately or blending the 1st phoneme then adding rime or word ending. I would recommend introducing this skill in a small group setting first. I would also model how to do the BOOM Cards by doing a couple of cards with the student. I will be adding each short vowel and I am also working on a printie to go with these BOOM Card activities.
