Description

This deck has 50 words to test your students in phonemic awareness. The words have short vowels with consonant blends and digraphs. Your students will get 20 different words each time they play. They can play over and over again to master this foundational skill. I did not combine the digraphs into one tile because I feel that although we teach the students that digraphs make one sound, they have to know to write the word with two letters. I think that having a space will help them realize their mistake, and they will learn from it. The students will hear the word and then move the letter to make the correct word. They will click submit and then get automatic feedback, whether they are right or incorrect. If they miss an individual letter, they will have an opportunity to correct their error and try again. This deck teaches the foundational skills usually learned in Kindergarten. For more success with this deck, students should have received instruction on consonant and vowel sounds. This deck provides practice for Foundational Skills in the Next Generation Standards for Kindergarten. I placed the letters of a keyboard to help students learn the keyboard. Kindergarten students are using keyboards more these days, and they should become more familiar with it. Separating the spoken word into its separate sounds and blending the individual sounds of letters to make words are the foundations of reading.
