Your ESL students will enjoy competing to sink their partner's battleships in this classic strategy game. Students will practice saying the letters A to G and the numbers 1 to 6 in English. They will also develop speaking, listening, and critical thinking skills. "Sink the Ships" is a versatile game. You can assign it as pair work, include it in learning stations or use it as a reward. Plus, you can use it for all kinds of language. Use the "draw" function to cross out the letters and numbers and write your own. Or, try one of the other "Sink the Ships" game boards available in my store. My favorite thing about this game is that it develops so many different skills: logic and critical thinking, speaking and listening, grammar and vocabulary. Kids love it because they're challenged, engaged, and determined to win! This resource uses the ink feature provided by Boom. Students can use ink to mark the game board when they hit or miss a ship. This resource also includes a video tutorial. If you plan to use the tutorial, please note that you may have to adjust browser and filtering settings first. Videos on Boom are not reliable when played in apps, but will play in standard (not private or incognito) browser mode. Also, please be aware that schools may block or filter video content.
