Description
This resource has students decoding CVC words and then deciding if the word is real or nonsense. Students are taught what nonsense words are and given examples of real words and nonsense words before playing the game. During the game, students will drag markers with CVC words on each to the correct category. A pencil pouch is for real words and a pencil box is for nonsense words. Sound icons are used for instruction and directions. Students will practice reading all five short vowels with various word families.
