Reading Skills Escape Room These Boom Cards are perfect to practice 3rd grade reading skills. Students can review the standards and test their knowledge of third grade reading skills. This will make a great test prep or end of the year review for students. This escape room has 4 task sections: Task 1- literary text (Lola's New Dog)- key details, story elements, character traits, theme, character feelings, summarizing using SWBST (someone, wanted, but, so, then) Task 2- Poem (Fishing)- point of view, figurative language, referring to stanzas, key details, stanzas building on each other, mood Task 3- informational text (Stingrays)- main idea, key details, context clues, point of view, summarize nonfiction Task 4- Informational text (Hurricanes)- point of view, sequencing (text structure), key details, text features As students complete each task, they can "cross it out" by dragging the x's. When all tasks are completed it will take them to a card that says "Congratulations you escaped third grade." Students can use the blue arrows to toggle back to the text. Tasks include multiple choice, drag and drop, and open response.
