This is an interactive speech and language activity. I found a treasure chest! Let’s open it and see what’s inside. In this activity, students open a series of treasure chests to reveal various early vocabulary items. This resource is perfect for targeting semantics, sentence formulation, grammatical structures, MLU expansion, expressive/receptive language, and early vocabulary. Let’s see what treasure this pirate finds! The student will say, “I found a chest!” using sentence strips, AAC, and visual/audio supports. Then the student will open the chest and formulate a sentence about the item they discover. The student will also respond to a what-question regarding each item using visual supports. Audio, visual supports, and errorless opportunities help ensure success for early language learners, analytic and gestalt processors, and mixed therapy groups.
