Description: Your students will review sums through 12 while finding the missing addend in a number sentence. They will do this by dividing a group into two parts. The students will look at a number sentence with a missing addend. They will see a line of turkeys. The number of turkeys shown is equal to the sum. They will work with a part and a whole to find the missing part. They will type the missing addend to complete the number sentence. Audio and alt text are provided. How to Use the Deck: - The students will drag a bar to divide the group of turkeys using the known addend from the number sentence. - They will use the bar to separate the line of turkeys so the number of turkeys for an addend is on one side and the other addend on the other side. - They will type the missing addend to complete the number sentence. - Recorded instructions are provided to work through a sample problem and for the first problem. - The number sentence is large and contains a box for the missing addend. The students will type the addend in the box. 1.OA.D.8 Determine the unknown whole number in an addition or subtraction equation relating three whole numbers.
