Description: This deck helps students identify pictures that represent simple, four-word sentences (e.g., "I open the door"). The sentences consist primarily of high-frequency words and familiar, everyday vocabulary. To ensure students comprehend the entire sentence rather than isolated keywords, each card features three pictures with similar themes, requiring full comprehension to select the correct answer. For students still developing sight-word recognition, an audio clue is available to read the sentence aloud. I create two versions of the same deck—one with a click-to-select function and another with drag-and-drop—as each has its own advantages. While click-to-select is more accessible for students with limited mobility and prevents memorization by shuffling answer positions, I’ve found that many of my students with ASD tend to click rapidly until they hit the right answer without truly processing the content. In contrast, the drag-and-drop function slows down the answering process and encourages greater accountability. Although students occasionally begin to memorize the physical position of the answers rather than the content itself, I find that introducing a concept with drag-and-drop first—and then transitioning to the click-to-select version—helps bridge that gap.
