Description: This interactive Boom Card deck helps first-grade students practice segmenting spoken single-syllable words into individual phonemes, a foundational phonemic awareness skill. Each of the 15 self-checking cards features a picture, three boxes for the sounds, and a place to write the word. Students will listen to the word, then segment sounds or take the word apart. They will type the individual sounds then write the word. They are required to write the word, but feel free to tweak this by letting the students who need modification, write the first sound, etc... CCSS RF.1.2.d: Segment spoken single-syllable words into their complete sequence of individual sounds (phonemes). and RF.K.2.d OAS K.2.PA.7: Students will segment phonemes in one-syllable spoken words with 2-4 phonemes (e.g., flat = /f/ /l/ /a/ /t/). TEKS ELA.K.2.A.x: demonstrate phonological awareness by: segmenting spoken one-syllable words into individual phonemes; found here: https://teksguide.org/teks/elak2ax/alignments
