Description: Classifying Quadrilaterals (Inclusive Trapezoid Definition) consists of 35 self-checking digital task cards designed to teach students how to classify quadrilaterals based on their sides and angles. The deck begins by introducing the characteristics of different types of quadrilaterals, focusing on parallelograms, rectangles, squares, rhombuses, and trapezoids. The remaining cards, which are presented randomly, include a variety of tasks that require students to classify quadrilaterals according to their characteristics. I’ve created 3 different versions of Classifying Quadrilaterals Boom Cards because there are 3 ways to define a trapezoid that depend on where you live and your math curriculum. The cards in this set classify trapezoids according to the “inclusive definition” which defines a trapezoid as a 4-sided polygon with AT LEAST ONE set of parallel sides. If you don't teach this definition for trapezoids, please look at my other two sets of Classifying Quadrilaterals Boom Cards to decide which one is right for your These Boom Cards are especially engaging because they require a variety of response types. Some cards have multiple choice answers, some require students to select quadrilaterals that have specific properties, and some require students to classify quadrilaterals by dragging and dropping them into categories. If any of the tasks are too easy or too challenging, you can hide those cards from your students using the Hide Cards setting in your Boom library.
