Description: This Build-a-Scene deck with a Christmas theme is a fun drag-and-drop activity for pre-k, kindergarten, or first-grade students. In this deck, students create their own Christmas scenes by decorating gingerbread houses, ugly and pretty Christmas sweaters, building gingerbread boys and girls, and creating cute reindeer, Santas, and elves. Students make choices and use their imaginations to build the pictures. Use these cards to reinforce vocabulary related to Christmas, as a center activity, during free time, or as a reward. Here are a few tips to guide the students: - You don't have to use all the pieces in the picture box; you can make choices. - Use your imagination—there are many add-ons that you can use. - Let the pieces overlap. Some of the pieces will snap to the back. - You can move around the pieces in the picture box as much as you want and put back any pieces you don't want to use. For the teachers: - Discuss the instruction page with the students, let them practice the drag-and-drop action, and then allow them to have fun independently, OR - Work with the students and provide them with instructions.
