Description: This Halloween themed, drag-and-drop word search is a fun and engaging way to provide your students with practice spelling, reading, and building cvc (medial u) words. The deck contains 15 cards. On each card, students are tasked with dragging and dropping a transparent tile on top of each letter in the cvc word featured on that particular card. The word may appear in the word search from left to right, from top to bottom, or diagonally from top to bottom and left to right. Picture and sound cues are provided on each card so that students will know what word to look for in the word search. Printed and audio options for every set of directions are provided on each card. This activity supports the following standard: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RF.K.2.D Isolate and pronounce the initial, medial vowel, and final sounds (phonemes) in three-phoneme (consonant-vowel-consonant, or CVC) words.1 (This does not include CVCs ending with /l/, /r/, or /x/.)
