Description: Fourth Grade Reading Skills Escape Room These Boom Cards are perfect to practice 4th grade reading skills. Students can review the standards and test their knowledge of 4th grade reading skills. This will make a great test prep or end of the year review for students. This escape room has 4 task sections: Task 1- literary text (Lola's New Dog)- key details, story elements, character traits, theme, character feelings, summarizing using SWBST (someone, wanted, but, so, then) Task 2- Poem (Fishing)- Poem structure, figurative language, referring to stanzas, key details, determine which part an illustration represents, hurclean reference, point of view, describe a setting in detail Task 3- informational text (Stingrays)- main idea, key details, context clues, text structure, summarize nonfiction, explaining information from photographs, text evidence Task 4- Informational paired texts (Hurricane Katrina and Evacuating for Hurricane Katrina)- first hand/second hand accounts, explaining information gained from photographs As students complete each task, they can "cross it out" by dragging the x's. When all tasks are completed it will take them to a card that says "Congratulations you escaped fourth grade." Students can use the blue arrows to toggle back to the text.
