Description: In this activity, students will practice reading and writing words with Beginning R Blends in Elkonin boxes. They will read the word, drag color tiles to represent the sounds, and then spell each sound in the word in the Elkonin boxes. There are audio directions on every slide and a sample slide. They are no prep and self-grading task cards. They do require internet and a boom learning account, but can be used with a free version. There are 19 cards and 15 cards will be randomly selected for each time played. Every student in the class will have a unique combination of cards and students can play multiple times and receive a different combination of cards each time. It is designed to work on a component of RF.K.3 and RF.1.3. *This activity may work better with the iPad portrait style rather than landscape especially if using the on screen keyboard.
