Description: These 30 audio supported slides support students in using arrays for multiplication, using arrays with word problems, number lines with multiplication, and vocabulary related to arrays, multiplication, and number lines. The cards begin with basic introduction to arrays and becomes increasingly more challenging as the cards progress. The first card defines what an array is and shows where the rows and columns are located. Students must then solve multiplication equations using an array. Students eventually identify the number of rows and columns and write the equation using that information. They then pair a number line with an equation. To reinforce lesson related vocabulary skills, students pair vocabulary words with definitions. CCSS: 3.OA.A.3 Use multiplication within 100 to solve word problems in situations involving equal groups, arrays, and measurement quantities. CCSS: 4.NBT.B.5 Multiply a whole number of up to four digits by a one-digit whole number, Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models.
