Description: Use this summer dog themed, drag-and-drop deck to provide your students with a fun way to work on reading CVC words and sight words taken from both the Dolch and Fry lists. In this level, the story contains a total of 23 unique words, 5 of which are either CVC words and 18 of which appear either on the Dolch Pre-K, K, or First Grade list or on the Fry first list of 100 words. All 23 unique words are divided into categories and listed for students to practice on the first two cards of the deck. Any other words used to make up each sentence are words that are provided for students. These words are already printed in a box in the sentence to be built. Students can listen to these words spoken aloud any time by tapping on the sound icon beneath the word. The deck includes 20 cards (2 word practice cards and 18 scrambled sentence cards), and all 20 cards are shown in order each time the game is played. The deck supports the following standards: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RF.K.3.c Read common high-frequency words by sight (e.g., the, of, to, you, she, my, is, are, do, does) CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RF.1.3.b Decode regularly spelled one syllable words CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RF.1.3.g Recognize and read grade-appropriate irregularly spelled words.
