There’s a knock at the zookeeper’s door—who is waiting outside? In this interactive Boom Learning™ speech therapy activity, students greet each zoo animal, request “open,” answer a what question, and build a simple sentence using embedded visuals and audio supports. After meeting each animal, students help the zookeeper bring the animal back to the zoo using draggable “Go home!” and “Go in!” pages. Animals are placed into their enclosure to reinforce core vocabulary, directions, and functional language. Animals included: tiger, elephant, zebra, hippo, gorilla, lion, monkey, and rhino. Targets include: ✔ greetings ✔ core word “open” ✔ “go” + directions ✔ what questions ✔ following directions ✔ early sentence formulation ✔ vocabulary & zoo animals ✔ AAC-supported sentence strips This predictable, repetitive routine supports early language learners, AAC users, gestalt and analytic language processors, and mixed therapy groups.
