Description: This Piano Practice Incentive is a fun way to help students get excited about practicing their method books and recital songs before Christmas. In my studio we use it from November till Christmas break. This incentive is different from my others in that students are practicing for a cause as opposed to getting prizes for themselves. We hold our Christmas Recital at a local assisted living home. After our Christmas recital we give each resident a hand made ornament that we create by earning a jingle bell for completing challenges including practicing, completing theory, passing off scale and completing boom cards, etc. I always start out this incentive letting the parents know the plan and having them talk to their kids about it as well. This is a pretty simple incentive to implement in your studio. I teach using a 20-20-20 method with 3 students in an hour that rotate between time with me at the piano, working through lessons on Piano Maestro on my second piano, and working on the Boom Cards that go with this incentive on either a chromebook or ipad. Of course feel free to adjust how you implement it into your own studio as needed.
