Description: Core words are an essential part of any balanced Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) system and comprise the language we use most frequently. The core word does not solely need to be limited to AAC users. You can use the core word with all your students to build vocabulary skills. Teaching core words allows the student to more readily communicate their wants/needs which will decrease frustration. The words can be used across a wide range of environments and communication partners. These worksheets allow your students to get more practice with the core word you are working on.
