Description: This resource includes a variety of “print and go” activities to target /s/ blends in all positions of words. The following printable activities are included in both COLOR and black & white formats (39 pages in all): Snow Day pages: Students will practice /s/ blends in the initial position of words: sk, sl, sn, sm, sp, st, sw, spr, spl, skr, and str. They will also practice /st/ and /sk/ in the medial and final position of words. Each page has 10 words to practice. There is also an open-ended page so you can write your own words or use as a general reinforcer with your language students! Your students could use dot markers, white pom poms, magnetic chips, stamps, cotton balls, mini erasers, or white playdough to cover each snowball as they practice. For extra fun, you could have them "splat" the playdough on laminated pages. Feed the Yeti: Students will feed the Yeti snowballs as they practice saying /s/ blends. Includes yeti and 24 snowballs. Skating rink: Students will practice holding the /s/ sound at the beginning of each word as they move the people across the ice. This tactile approach is especially helpful for students who tend to simplify /s/ blends (cluster reduction). Includes skating rink background and 24 cards. Sledding hill: Students will practice holding the “ssssss” sound at the beginning of each word as they move the characters down the sledding hill (similar to the skating rink activity) and offers more practice for students who simplify /s/ blends
