Description: This resource includes a variety of “print and play” activities to help students improve their understanding of word relationships and how words go together. Students will also improve their vocabulary, problem solving, and inferencing skills as they learn how to recognize word associations and explain word relationships. You can also work on higher level WH questions (How Questions, Why Questions) by having them explain "How" the two words go together. This packet includes the following activities in both color AND black & white. (42 pages in all): 48 Go-together puzzles: Print on cardstock and laminate for durability. Cut apart the cards to create puzzles. 40 Go-together clip cards - Print on cardstock and laminate for durability. Students will put a clothespin on the word that goes with the large picture on the card. If you'd like the cards to be self-checking, simply flip each card over and add a star, smiley face, or sticker on the back of the card just behind the correct answer choice. You could also use these cards with magnetic chips! 5 “What goes together?” worksheets - These could be used for independent practice or homework. They use the same words/pictures as the other activities. Students will cut apart the pictures and glue them next to the words that go together. Also a great opportunity to practice fine motor skills!
