Description: Students will sort the ornaments into the correct tree according to how many syllables are in the word. Students will work with words that have 1, 2, 3, or 4 syllables. This makes a great hands on center for students needed phonological awareness practice in counting syllables. The bold, easy to recognize pictures allow students to count the syllables of each word independently. How to Use: Activity 1 - Students will lay out the 4 syllable mats and then sort the feather cards into the correct turkey according to how many syllables are in the word. Activity 2 - Students will build Christmas Trees according to the number of syllables in each word.
