Description: Make grammar practice engaging with this fun fall-themed nouns and verbs activity! Students examine three different autumn scenes and identify nouns and verbs using written responses. On the first page for each picture, students write the noun words into the box and then write two additional nouns that are not labeled in the picture. On the following page, students write the verb words into the box and then write two verbs that are not labeled, encouraging them to carefully observe the picture and identify actions independently. The final page shows a scarecrow in a pumpkin patch. Students will write a sentence about the picture that includes at least 2 nouns and a verb. Students will circle the nouns and underline the verb. Students may color the pictures if they choose. The autumn scenes provide meaningful visual context while helping students distinguish between people, places, animals, and things (nouns) and action words (verbs). Seven printable PDFs included. Skills Practiced: Identifying nouns in context Identifying verbs and action words Distinguishing nouns from verbs Using visual clues to identify parts of speech Reading and recognizing vocabulary words Writing words independently Observing details in an illustration Building autumn-themed vocabulary Applying grammar skills to real-world picture contexts Acknowledgements: Canva AI-backgrounds creazilla.com 1001fonts.com
