Description: This interactive no-prep activity is an engaging way to help your students build a variety of receptive and expressive language skills using SNOWMAN COMMUNITY HELPERS. Students are presented with different snowman job paired with a community building and asked the WH question "what do you want to be?" Students are given 2 visual choices and a visual sentence strip. Students are able to drag and drop the community helper into the visual sentence strip to form utterances such as "I want to be a doctor." The snowman help keep the activity motivating and engaging! This activity contains the following: - 14 different snowman at work (e.g, doctor, dentist, police officer, mechanic, teacher, librarian, fire fighter, magician, basketball player, baker, scientist, painter, delivery man, construction worker) - 14 different community building (e.g. hospital, police station, dentist, gas station, school, library, fire station, museum, airport, bakery, factory, house, pizza parlor, hotel) - Visual sentence strips to help students increase MLU Some IEP goals that can be targeted during this activity: - Expanding Utterances & Increasing MLU - Core Word WANT - WH Questions - Vocabulary (community helpers & town buildings) - Inference & Other WH Question ideas (e.g. why do you go to the hospital, what do does the firefighter do, where is the teacher, where do you go if you want cookies, etc.)
