This topic maintenance deck provides rudimentary practice for elementary school children learning what it means to make on topic comments and questions. It uses a checkmark system so students can practice self-monitoring their performance. Checkmarks provide two valuable tools: they force the student to pause and evaluate whether or not their question or comment was on topic, and receiving a checkmark in the off-topic box provides visual feedback which reminds the student to self-evaluate their performance. In this game, students learn to make on topic questions and comments about a picture. This can be done by the students saying their on topic questions or statements about the photos and the student and clinician checking off whether the statements were on or off topic.
