🍦 Froyo Kawaii | Vocational Pragmatics & Social Communication Welcome to Froyo Kawaii! Students become frozen yogurt shop employees in this interactive vocational and pragmatic language activity. Students begin with a short employee training video and then practice helping customers while navigating realistic workplace situations. Skills targeted include: • Taking and following customer orders • Reading facial expressions and body language • Using the “Big 3”: eyes, eyebrows, and mouth • Explaining nonverbal clues • Recognizing customer emotions and reactions • Fixing incorrect orders appropriately • Professional vs. unprofessional responses • Problem-solving and flexible thinking • Selecting correct froyo flavors and toppings • Restocking toppings and preparing fruit • Recognizing and reporting low/out-of-stock items Students receive feedback throughout the activity to help them understand why a choice may or may not be appropriate.
