Description: This Boom Deck works on coordinating conjunctions. It introduces what coordinating conjunctions are, reviews FANBOYS, and gives basic definition for the conjunctions. Then there are 25 cards with real pictures and three different coordinating conjunctions listed. Students need to choose a conjunction and write a sentence in the box provided. There are the same 25 pictures with compound sentences written. Students need to determine the conjunction in the sentences and determine if the sentence can be reversed. If it can be reversed, there is a text box for students to write their responses. There is also a text box for them to write the conjunction. 1: Menu Card 2 – 4: Teach about coordinating conjunctions 4 – 29: Real pictures with 3 conjunctions. Students need to write a sentence about the picture with one of the conjunctions. 30 – 54: The same pictures but with sentences written. Box for students to write the conjunction used and then if the sentence can be reversed, a box for them to write the new sentence.
