Description: Time for Presents is an open ended activity. It can be used to practice making choices, turn taking skills, imitating gestures, labeling items/actions, formulating simple sentences, modeling core vocabulary, answering wh-questions, modeling socially appropriate behavior, or as a simple reinforcement activity. Student selects a present that he/she wants to open. The activity will automatically advance to the corresponding slide. Student drags the present as well as the last white square in the sentence strip COMPLETELY off the right side of the screen. Model/elicit the target sentence. Child selects like or don’t like button to return to the home screen. Drag and drop the thank you icon on to the present that you just opened to prevent repeat choices, as well as, remind student that whether we like/don’t’ like a present we always say thank you.
