As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) I have found and still find it hard to find the "just right" books for myself and parents. The Bow Book was created with parents and professionals in mind. I wanted to make something that would be easy for parents to use to promote speech and language while also providing professionals a way to generalize many of the speech and language skills they are working on in isolation. The book starts out with simple labeling of animals (CVC and CVCV), moves on to color + noun phrases "pink bow," "blue bow," "purple bow," etc. Also included are 'wh' questions "what" and "where," prepositional phrases, i.e., "on pig," and several sight words. Finally, the last two slides allow you to put it all together in a phrase, i.e., "Pink bow on pig." At the end, If you like this one, there is also The Hat Book to add to your library.
